Our House…........
This year we have really been working to make our house a stand-out house so that when it goes on the market next year it will attract a buyer quickly.
So this is what our house looks like after re-doing the roof a pretty blue, adding new windows, new blue siding with white trim, new windows, new gutters and a new red front door.

This is also the year that our neighbors decided to build onto their house; he needed a garage (a previous owner had turned it into a family room) they needed more storage, and baby needed a place to play. We didn’t have a problem with it so didn’t protest when notified by the town that they needed a variance to build it. (We do try to get along with the neighbors after all.) All last fall she talked about the colors they were thinking about for their house. She even had me drive by a couple of newly sided ones in the neighborhood that she liked, all were beigeish or light yellow. I told her I thought that they were pretty and would look good.
Well, we got our house the new roof, windows, siding and beautiful red door and it looked amazing. Our house really popped. Before we got the front door on neighbor lady told me that she didn’t think that she would like a red door, it might be ‘weird’. Oh well, her problem not mine. When the whole house was done she kept telling us how nice it looked; she liked our red, white and blue theme.
This summer when we journeyed to Michigan for our annual trip, next door started construction of their house. (Thank God we didn’t have to listen to the pounding of the hammers all day.) Nightly College Girl would give us an update on the progress of it. She made it sound HUGE. We didn’t think that it would be HUGE because they were only adding a garage and a room above it. (Actually they also made a portion of the upstairs different than it was before construction.)
When it was sided I should have known something was up because College Girl wouldn’t tell us the color of it.
Here is a picture of the almost completed house next door; I think you will understand why I barely speak to them now.

And to add further salt to the wound they are staining their front door (drum roll please) CHERRY!! Also today they added a new storm door and dang if it doesn’t match our’s exactly.
Whatcha’ think, should I ask for donations now to re-side our house?? I sure can’t afford to do it and who is going to want to buy our house when it is dwarfed by it’s bigger, blue brother??? Any suggestions?? Go ahead, try to make me laugh about this one.
