It’s a Full Moon
Yup, you sure don’t need to tell me that it is a full moon.
People have been acting strange the last few days and it is all due that full moon. Big, round, bright and shiney.
Been making people ornery and aggressive. Driving at night becomes an adventure and also a time of survival.
So cold outside that the snow squeaks beneath my boots and the moon just sparkles off the new stuff that fell late last night.
Anyway, just stopped in to say hello and stay in touch.
Hope all is well in your neck of the world.

Plumbers……….. Grrrrrrrrrrr
Hi it’s me again - trying to be oh so cheery................. yeah right!
Remember the new tub that I was supposed to be getting?? Remember how I was about it?? Giddy even???
Well, we are so NOT happy right now.
The idiots (I am struggling to be polite here) installed in a bathroom, that has a white porcelain sink and a white porcelain toilet, an OFF-WHITE bathtub. In fact you could even call it lite beige or creamy porcelain. It does NOT match the tub surround - which just has to go as it is so NOT what we wanted and looks like a refugee out of the 60s.
We told the owner of the business that it was unacceptable and we got a story about how it was the lighting - to which I gave a very hearty BS and proved him wrong using different lights - he then brought in a piece of the box from the manufacturer that showed it said WHITE as if that really proved anything. Couldn’t prove that it was the box that it came in as that had left the day before. Then he tried to tell us that Lowe’s only carried two kind of tub surrounds and he brought us the more expensive of the two because it was made better.
Well, we told him that it was not what we wanted and he tried to explain it away as Lowe’s fault as they were getting out of the business of selling tub surrounds.
I told him that I was going to check with Lowe’s and see. So sweet hubby went down to the computer and pulled up the Lowe’s website and did some research and then I came down and
called the store and relayed all that was going on and the guy was preplexed but helpful. Yes, Lowe’s carries tub surrounds and they carry more than they show on their website and all of them have been in stock for several days.
So I went back upstairs and told the plumber/owner and he gave me some more of a story and got very angry and then stomped out of the house.
His worker (a sub-contractor) stayed behind and said that he would glady replace the surround when I got what I wanted. That just means another layout of money and paying someone to do something that should’ve been done right the first time.
So far we don’t have a bill and we plan on taking some time to pay it. And I am sure that sweet hubby will also have more words for the plumber.
The whole thing just makes me so darn mad!!
If I had my way I would rip out the whole thing and sell it on E-bay and put in exactly what we want.

Something fun……..
Been up since real early (for us anyway) for the plumber to install a new tub upstairs. The previous one was cracking on the bottom and being afraid of leaks into the closet on the main floor below it, we decided that there is no time like the present to get it replaced.
Sitting here and going on and off the computer since dawn and decided to share this site that I got from Grammie Pammie as it is rather fun to do. See my results and then you can click on the link to get your very own title.

My life……..
Whoa - this space looks familiar.......... a totally blank page.............what to fill it with...............
Been busy getting my father settled from a rehab hospital (he needed to relearn balance and walking, etc) to an assisted living apartment which he seems to be ok with and dealing with two kids home from college and keeping me busy to trying to get some sort of order or schedule to my life. The dogs are currently living at a kennel because we haven’t been here that much and with all the running, the holidays, the repair people that are coming it is just saner to leave them somewhere where they are getting exercised, attention and food on a schedule than having them here and having them mostly in their crate because we are just not here that much. Anybody want two cute dogs?
I can bet that I have logged over 100 miles of driving today and if I think real hard I bet I can find something/somewhere that I needed to be or to get today.
The oldest one leaves for college in the early morning; a long drive to get back to her school in NY...............ah, miss her already.
Today the electrician was here on his own today (with his helper) to install a new panel (making it bigger), some more outlets, a few switches and at long last a beautiful, wrought iron pole light for outside the front door to illuminate the porch and the driveway. Wait a minute! Did I type wrought iron pole?? Well, that is what we wanted - it is not what we got. Right now we are sporting a four by four with two flood lights screwed to it on the side farthest from the driveway which is illuminating the whole front of our house. Can you say major tacky?? I am so going to holler at that man. He thinks that I am such a sweet person; ha, don’t mess with this one.
Had fun at Meijer (while the electrician turned my front yard into something out of the Beverly HillBillies) seems that the store has a whole boatload of stuff on clearance. Walked in there for dog food and walked out of there owning a steam cleaner, kitchen stuff for the oldest, steam cleaner solution and a magazine. Sweet hubby liked that trip so much he wanted to see what the other Meijer had; so when the girls went to the hairdresser we dropped him off at the other Meijer. Now we own a George Formin grill (Saved over $70 off original price), got a pasta pot for the oldest and boot socks. Girls want to keep sweet hubby out of stores - he has been dubbed the shop-aholic...... at least it isn’t me.......yet.
Get a day off from doing normal errands, caregiver duties and doctor appointments and you just read above how we can get into trouble.
Keep ya posted.
