Where was this when I was working??

One night when SEB and the Mrs. were over for a visit they spent quite some time showing us their characters on World of Warcraft and also took us out to YouTube to see some of the videos that people had made to popular songs from the characters.  I don’t exactly know how the videos were made and I won’t pretend to either - they are just really cool and some are really funny.

This particular video caught my attention and made me chuckle.  Anytime I play it you can for sure find me smiling and singing along with it.  My only wish is that I would’ve had access to it when I was working.  I think that I would’ve made sure to play it when certain co-workers were outside my cubical.
Enjoy!!

Here is a link to the web site of the person who wrote and sang this funny song:Jonathan Coulton

Bye Bye Jericho Bye Bye

Not sure who out there watches Jericho on CBS, but tonight was the last episode of a very interesting series.
I understand that SciFi (one of my favorite channels) is doing season 1 in re-runs.
Last year the fans saved it with a petition (which your’s truly signed, along with sweet hubby) and also by sending a ton of peanuts to CBS’s offices.
CBS came right out in TV Guide and stated that sending peanuts would not save the show as the viewership had declined.
Well what did they expect?  They put it on in the middle of the season then it was off because of the writer’s strike; last year they almost killed it because it went on hiatus for too long.
Hopefully SciFi will pick it up and we will get to finish the story.
Story was really relevant to today’s times too.

Found this and thought that it was funny.  I really wanted to be Jake, but Hawkins is pretty cool too.

Which Jericho Character Are You?

Happy Merry Easter!!

Just thought that I would write that since I was wished “Merry Easter” this morning.

Hope that your Easter was spent with family and/or friends and you didn’t stuff yourself too much on good cooking.
Sweet hubby made lamb with pan roasted potatoes, corn, and rolls; what a tasty meal that was too!!

Off I go to hunt down whatever chocolate eggs or jelly beans I can find.  I leave you with one of my favorite Easter cartoons.

Who asked for SNOW for Easter??

Here we are in sunny southern Michigan - uh wait that was a couple of days ago.  Now we are buried almost up to our knees in the white shtuff again!!
Who requested this for Easter??

There is so much snow out there that after I went out to the store to pick up something for the youngest (she still is not feeling well) I couldn’t even follow my tracks back into the driveway.  I was only gone for 15 minutes.  They say that the snow was falling at an inch an hour and now of course it is drifting and threatening to make it next to impossible to get my back door open in the morning.

We even had to make a trip out to a shoe store as the youngest was planning on wearing flip-flops for Easter and now that we have snow she needed shoes. (They grow up before they learn everything) So off the two of us went to a store about 20 miles away and usually about a 20 minute run - not tonight; it took us over an hour and a half to get there, pick up the shoes that were being held for her, and drive back.  All I can say is thank God for 4 wheel drive because a few times we had to hit the shoulder because someone in front of us was more concerned about who they were coming up on than who was coming up next to them.  At one point the cars were driving 4 across on a 3 lane highway - it was madness.

I will be soooooo glad when the snow season is over!!!
All I want to know right now is - WHO ASKED FOR SNOW FOR EASTER?????

What will they think up next?

Just caught this while browsing around and couldn’t believe what I was watching.

It seems that there are churches out there that have started online confessionals.  Yup folks that is right. Just type in that website and confess your sins online.  (I think that I am going to be ill) The Catholic church has banned online confessions, but you can visit their retail church located inside the mall in Colorado and receive your confession there.

View the video here:

It is starting to amaze me how crazy some things are starting to become; and on the other hand I can see where more of society is starting to spend more time on the computers than they do with their own families so hey, why not confess your sins online so that all your online friends can read them?  I really think that some of these “Men of God” are taking things way too far, and making all people of faith look like idiots.

Things like this almost make me want to get up early in the morning to watch newsy TV shows.

(Yeah and someone will probably slam me for writing this, but hey, it is only my opinion.)

Man is selling his life

I was reading all the interesting bits on the different news pages on the web today and found an interesting one about a man in Australia who is selling his life. In fact he is auctioning it off on E-bay starting June 22nd at Noon.  Since it is in Australia I am not quite sure of the time difference though I believe it is about 14hrs and they are like a day ahead of us. (The youngest went there a few years back)

He is selling his life because he built it with his girlfriend who then became his wife and now that they are divorced he no longer wants any part of it.  He is auctioning off as one package his home, the entire contents, his vehicles, his friends and a two week temporary job that could turn into a permanent one if the person works out.  If you don’t work out in that job you could also go work in the mining industry or many other areas that are seeking trained people.

You can check out his site Life for Sale to see pictures of his home, his stuff - which includes TVs, projectors, cameras, video games and console, DVDs, pots, pans, literally everything that is in his home.  The home is a nice size and gorgeous with a stunning view out the front door.  He has even included a video on the site of what working in the mine is like; he was a dump truck driver.  It is not your ordinary dump truck either.

Take a peek at it.  Maybe we can all pool our monies together and have it for a shared vacation home!!!  We could rent it out the weeks that we don’t use it and pay ourselves back!!  Write me!! Let me know!!

Update on me

Sorry for the rather vain title.
For those of you who wish to know - I am pretty much all better now.  Suffice to say it was probably the worst case of food poisoning that I have ever had and I hope that I never have one that bad again.  At one point we thought that I might have to go to the hospital after all, but a quick check of WebMd.com found that I was just having some of the worst symptoms of the many that one could have.

For the first time in 5 years I had to spend 2 1/2 days in bed, eating Jell-O, playing on the laptop and basically being bored out of my skull.

As to what caused it, chances are it was the meat topping on the loaded baked potato as that would be an ingredient more prone to giving that type of food poisoning.  It could’ve been any of the salad ingredients, one of them may have come in contact with raw meat juices and not rinsed well after or even been handled by someone with improperly washed hands.

Also, we took our youngest (who is all of 18.5 yrs old) out to another restaurant for St. Patrick’s day since no one was up to cooking and she fell ill later that evening from a salmon sandwich.  Whether the fish was old or handled improperly or what - it just made her sicker than a dog from Monday night till earlier today.  She is starting to feel better and even managed to eat some Mrs. Grass’s soup for her dinner.  I gave a piece of advice; “If a restaurant doesn’t specialize in fish/seafood like Red Lobster, etc. than it is best not to eat it.” (That restaurant specializes in another type of food and if you ask me privately I will tell you which restaurants we both ate at when we got sick.)

Beware those of you who eat at restaurants - just beware.

This is just plain no fun

Hi
I am sick.  Not just sick with the bronchitis because that is almost totally gone; but sick as in ate some really bad food.
I was trying to eat a bit healthier. Went into a name brand restaurant for lunch on Tuesday and ordered their lunch combo of a “fresh garden salad” and a “loaded baked potato”.
Ok, so maybe the loaded baked potato wasn’t the healthiest of choices, but they taste good and I was being good with the salad instead of ordering a big ole burger or that plate of chicken alfredo with penne pasta that I was thinking about.

By nightfall I was starting to really feel ill, by morning I was ill and it was the salad to blame.

Here comes the Thank God moment because if I wasn’t already sick and taking antibiotics for the bronchitis this food poisoning would have landed me smack dab in the hospital.  It has been brutal to be sure but according to our friendly physician I will survive and should be back on my feet and eating solid food by Sunday - which is good since St. Paddy’s day is on Monday.

I am taking a stronger antibiotic, pain pills with codeine (since “all those addicts are constipated") and of course chomping on Pepto Bismal pills whenever needed.  Yup, doc was on a roll today.  I also am sucking down jello and Vernor’s ginger ale (is there any other kind?); all while the rest of them eat a nice grilled chicken with real mashed potatoes dinner downstairs that is wafting up here to the bed and slowly driving me crazy.

Oh hark, I hear the sound of jello being delivered as someone is coming.  Quick, hide, duck under the covers and moan loudly - and pray that they don’t notice the laptop is running.............

Just Have to Say This

Just have to say this - will you people please learn how to drive!!!!

Trying to figure out why I-275 wasn’t moving very fast on the journey home tonight and also because being sicker than the proverbial dog I wasn’t relishing the thought of being stuck in traffic, I just have to say LEARN HOW TO DRIVE!!!!

To the idiots who think that it is permissible to drive 65mph on a 70mph road in the extreme passing lane (the farthest one on the left) - SPEED UP, or MOVE OVER because you were royally holding up traffic and your sorry behind shouldn’t have been hanging out in that lane.

To the idiot that thought that leaving a 6 car gap between them and the next vehicle while doing 55mph on a70mph road was safe driving - YOU ARE WRONG, YOU ARE A HAZARD.  Besides the frustrated ones that are trying to pass your sorry behind you are endangering all our lives.  So, STEP IT UP, SPEED IT UP or MOVE TO THE FAR RIGHT LANE.

To those idiots that are just too darn scared to be driving on an expressway, you might seriously think about working from home or riding in with one of your co-workers because YOU ARE A HAZARD and a DANGER to the rest of us.

Ok, think I have that off of my chest for now.

I am alive

I am alive, just thought that you might want to know that.

Spent all day Sunday in bed - no, not that - because the illness I have been trying to fight decided that it wanted to win.
Off to the doc on Monday and ended up with a shot - what a pain in the......................wait for it...............arm!!

See, you can tell that I am sick - the humor is way off today.

Two more pills to take, a real good nasal spray (that actually gives 12 hours of relief) and then it is under the covers I go.

Wednesday is a lite day for me.  Youngest goes to the new chiropractor in the afternoon, there is wash to do, boxes to move and at least 2 meals to prepare.
Yup, a pretty lite day.

Here’s to feeling tip top pretty soon.
